Day 4: Yogurt and Steps, that will do it

I never thought I would say this, but the Scandinavian weather has made me appreciate the muggy, hot, sticky fall weather of the Northeast. Although Greece's weather was perfection, it reminded me of how I take those sunny days in Lancaster with the fresh breeze of steaming fertilized corn fields for granted.
Yet, for the record, Greece does one thing better than my hometown... Chobani has got nothing on greek yogurt. The Greek's yogurt is so smooth and has the consitency of an extremely whipped custard = my kind of loving. Granted, it is probably a hundred times more unhealthy, but who is watching...or cares.
ANYWAYS
My last day in Greece was not spent obsessing over the yogurt and sun; Nafplio is a quaint town situated on a sort of peninsula with steep, winding streets down to rocky shores and with cliffs jutting out above city homes. It was a pretty low key day spent hiking up about a thousand steps of a Venetian fortress randomly placed to the north end of the city.
Those steps though...
At one point, I was on my hands and knees trying to make it up these cursed steps that just did not want to end in spite of me. When I say my thighs burned; they were on fire. I like to think that I am in shape, but those steps tested my patience and will.
Frankly, I think the Venetians are insane to build a military fortress like that, but if you have been looking for an effective tactic to avoid visitors, look no more! Simply place a thousand or so steep steps up to your house. That will do it.
But all joking aside, I had the most wonderful last day in Nafplio, Greece and it continued on late into the evening with my classmates celebrating our "study tour" success.
If the weather doesn't draw me back to Greece's rocky shores, the greek yogurt sure will.
